We’re all a little sad to turn the calendar over to October, but one of the positives of transitioning from summer into fall is that this is a great time of year to remake your workout regimen.

1. Stay on Track for the Holidays
For many of us, the word “holidays” is pretty much interchangeable with “calories.” One of the best reasons to rethink or recharge your workouts in the fall is that it will put you on a better pattern throughout November and December. The calorie count is probably going to be pretty high toward the end of the year. Might as well combat that by sticking to a fitness regimen that you laid the groundwork for in the fall.
2. Stay Ready for Winter Vacations
If you plan on a beach getaway during the winter or early spring months, how are you going to fit into that bathing suit if you gave up on your exercise goals the minute the calendar turned to fall. Making a commitment to fitness now will help you avoid the killer last-minute vacation diet and exercise rush.
3. Make the Most of Cooler Temps
One of the nicest things about going for a run or a hard walk in the fall is that you don’t necessarily have to take a shower immediately after. If you’ve been stuck in a gym or in your house all summer to avoid the heat, the autumn might be your chance to get out and be inspired by nature. Reconnecting with the great outdoors is an excellent way to motivate yourself to stick to a new exercise regimen.
4. Fewer Distractions
If you’re a busy mom, the summer is one of the hardest times to make some room for your fitness. The kids are out of school and need to be shuttled from one activity to the next. With a new school year upon us, this is your chance to refocus on you and your fitness. Take advantage of the opportunity while your schedule is still manageable.
